News Oscar Nominee Hathaway Will Be Garland on Stage and Screen Academy Award nominee Anne Hathaway, who will portray Viola in the Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park production of Twelfth Night this summer, has landed another starring role.

Hathaway, according to Variety, will play the late, legendary Judy Garland in both the stage and screen adaptations of the Garland bio "Get Happy." The Weinstein Company recently optioned the film and stage rights to Gerald Clarke's book. Harvey Weinstein told the industry paper that Hathaway "will be a true class act in this challenging role."

No time table has been announced for either the stage or screen version of "Get Happy."

Anne Hathaway's screen credits include "Rachel Getting Married" (Oscar nomination), "The Devil Wears Prada," "Brokeback Mountain," "Bride Wars," "Becoming Jane" and "The Princess Diaries." She appeared in the 2002 City Center Encores! production of Carnival! as well as Jane Eyre and Gigi at the Paper Mill Playhouse.
