Variety reports that Kidman will join the previously announced Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Freida Pinto and Naomi Watts in the currently untitled project. Producers are Letty Aronson, Steve Tenenbaum and Jaume Roures. Mediapro, a Spain-based company that funded Allen's "Vicky Cristina Barcelona," will finance the motion picture.
Allen's "Whatever Works" is due in cinemas June 19.
Nicole Kidman, who received an Academy Award for her work in "The Hours," was also nominated for her role in "Moulin Rouge." The actress made her Broadway debut in The Blue Room. Kidman's other screen credits include lead roles in "Australia," "Bewitched," "Cold Mountain," "The Others," "Eyes Wide Shut," "Malice," "Far and Away," "Dead Calm" and "Days of Thunder."
