Joanne Woodward will direct the reading, which is scheduled for Aug. 25 at 7 PM. The one-night-only event is part of Westport's "The Classical Series," which brings together professional actors to read the works of master playwrights. Additional casting will be announced shortly.

In Golden Boy, press notes state, "Joe Bonaparte dreams of becoming a world-famous violinist. When he is coerced into prize fighting by the lovely Lorna (Tomei), he discovers that he can make easy money. As he wins match after match, he finds himself losing his musical aspirations and becoming consumed by fortune, fame and glorious violence."

Marisa Tomei has appeared on Broadway in Top Girls, Salome and Wait Until Dark. She won the Academy Award for her performance in "My Cousin Vinny" and was Oscar-nominated for her work in "In the Bedroom." Tomei is a member of the Naked Angels Theater Company.
