Cherry Lane Theatre and Atlantic Theater Company have announced extensions for their current Off-Broadway productions, Out of the Mouth of Babes and The Purple Lights of Joppa Illinois, respectively.

Performances began June 7 for the world premiere of Israel Horovitz’ Out of the Mouths of Babes starring Oscar winner and five-time Tony nominee Estelle Parsons and two-time Tony winner Judith Ivey. In the new comedy, four women arrive in Paris for the funeral of a 100-year-old man who loved each of them. The production also stars Angelina Fiordellisi and Francesca Choy-Kee, with direction by Barnet Kellman. It is set to officially open June 19 and will now play through July 31 at the Cherry Lane Theatre. Click here to purchase tickets.

Atlantic Theater Company's production of The Purple Lights of Joppa Illinois officially opened June 7 at Atlantic Stage 2 following previews that began Off-Broadway May 25. The new drama is written and directed by Pulitzer Prize finalist Adam Rapp and stars Vinyl star Susan Heyward, who was seen on Broadway in A Trip to Bountiful. The cast of the New York premiere also features Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s Katherine Reis, William Apps (Wolf in the River) and Connor Barrett (Finer Noble Gases).
