Entitled Out on Broadway, the June 22 concert at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall will pay tribute to the gay creators of American musical theatre and the gay character and subjects found in many Broadway musicals. Concertgoers can expect to hear such tunes as The Producers' "Keep It Gay,"Avenue Q's "If You Were Gay," La Cage aux Folles' "I Am What I Am" and "A Little More Mascara," Kiss of the Spider Woman's "You Could Never Shame Me," Rent's "Will I" and Mame's "If He Walked Into My Life." Show time is 8 PM. A co-commission with the Seattle Men's Chorus, the concert will also premiere on the West Coast in late June. Alex Rybeck has arranged the musical selections and will be performed under the baton of Jeffrey Maynard.
