According to the official website for The Broadway League, which produces the annual event with the Times Square Alliance, "Broadway on Broadway®, the annual outdoor concert in Times Square which has in the past taken place on the Sunday after Labor Day, will not take place in 2013." No reason was given for the cancellation.
The concert features appearances from actors in current and upcoming productions. Thousands of theatre fans attend the season kickoff, which stretches from 43rd to 47th Streets.
Last year's concert was held Sept. 9, 2012.
