News Outer Critics Circle Will Present Return of the Playwright Nov. 5 Outer Critics Circle will celebrate the new theatre season with an upcoming evening dedicated to playwrights.

The Nov. 5 event, entitled Return of the Playwright, will be held at the famed Sardi's Restaurant in Manhattan. The evening will include dinner and a panel discussion with several prominent playwrights.

Among the playwrights currently scheduled to take part in the event, which runs 5-7:30 PM, are Tina Howe (Coastal Disturbances, Chasing Manet), Leslie Lee (The First Breeze of Summer, Colored People's Time), Adam Rapp (Red Light Winter, Kindness), Joseph Stein (Fiddler on the Roof, Enter Laughing) and Michael Weller (Beast, Fifty Words). Mario Fratti (Nine, The Cage, Suicide) and OCC Executive Committee member Rosalind Friedman will moderate.

Return of the Playwright will be held in the Eugenia Room of Sardi's Restaurant, which is located at 234 West 44th Street. Tickets, priced $35 (for OCC members) and $45 (for non-members), include light buffet dinner, open seating, cash bar and the panel discussion.
