News Owl Creek, Musical of War, Betrayal and Hope, Gets NYC Backers' Presentation Aug. 18 Owl Creek, a new musical based on the Civil War era Ambrose Bierce short story, "An Occurrence at Owl Creek," gets a Manhattan presentation for producers 7 PM Aug. 18.

Readings of the show were seen in New York City July 7-8.

Jamibeth Margolis directs the show, which has book, music and lyrics by Ben Cohn and Sean McDaniel. David Halstead produces. Vadim Feichtner is musical director.

The show is called "a timely and haunting expression of war and passion, betrayal and hope." The musical has been in development for two years and has been seen in several professional readings in New York. This presentation is a fuller staging, with minimal sets and costumes, as in July's readings.

The cast includes David Barrus, Pierce Peter Brandt, Bridget Crawford,Robert DuSold, Karen Elliott, Adam Karsten, Russell Arden Koplin, Graham Rowat, Michael Sinclair, Lucy Sorensen, Juliana Stefanov, Christine M. Williamson, Jessica-Snow Wilson and Lee Zarrett.

Orchestrations are by Christopher Jahnke. The presentation is at Manhattan Theatre Club Studios, Studio No. 1, 311 W. 43rd Street, Eighth Floor, New York City. For more information, members of the producing community may call (212) 330-8608.
