LOS ANGELES -- Due to popular demand, East West Players has extended its inaugural production of Pacific Overtures through May 3.

Performances are Thurs.-Sat. at 8 PM; Sat. & Sun. at 2 PM at the David Henry Hwang Theatre at the Union Center for the Arts, 120 N. Judge John Aiso St. (formerly San Pedro St.) in downtown L.A.

Directed by Tim Dang with musical direction by Scott Nagatani, Pacific Overtures is the first production of EWP's inaugural season at the new David Henry Hwang Theatre. "The support from Asian Pacific and theatre communities has been overwhelming," said Dang. "We are grateful that everyone has embraced our work and our new home."

EWP's next production is the world premiere of another musical, Heading East, with book & lyrics by Robert Lee, music by Leon Ko. Presented in part by the California State Library and the Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department, it will open on May 29 and close on June 12.
