News Pacino, Goodman and Sarandon Cast in "You Don't Know Jack" Film Academy Award-winning actress Susan Sarandon and John Goodman will join Al Pacino for the new HBO film "You Don't Know Jack," based on the life of Dr. Jack Kevorkian.

Al Pacino ("The Godfather," Hughie, Salome) according to the Hollywood Reporter, will star as Dr. Kevorkian, who became known after releasing a video of himself euthanizing a terminally ill patient in the 1990's. The film is loosely based on Neal Nicol and Harry Wylie's book "Between the Dying and the Dead: Dr. Jack Kevorkian's Life and the Battle to Legalize Euthanasia." Sarandon recently co-starred with fellow Oscar winner Geoffrey Rush in the Broadway revival of Ionesco's Exit the King, and will portray Hemlock Society activist Janet Good, who later utilizes Kevorkian's services following her battle with terminal cancer.

John Goodman is signed to portray Kevorkian friend and co-worker Nicol. Goodman just concluded performances in the Broadway revival of Waiting for Godot with Nathan Lane and Bill Irwin.

Barry Levinson directs Adam Mazer's script for "You Don't Know Jack," which is produced by Levinson, Steven L. Jones, Lydia Dean Pilcher and Glenn Rigberg.
