News Pack Your Mandolin! Once Will Get a National Touring Company Like the wandering troubadour at its core, Once, the 11-time Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical, will travel. The producers announced that a national tour of the acclaimed show will begin in summer 2013.

The Road Company, a theatrical booking agency, is putting together the U.S. national tour of the Dublin-set fable about a stuck Irish singer who is inspired by a Czech immigrant who also has music in her heart.

Casting and dates for the national tour have not been announced, but you can be sure that actors who know their way around multiple musical instruments are pricking up their ears; the musical uses an ensemble of actor-musicians who play everything from drums to ukulele to mandolin to guitar to piano to accordion and more.

Once earned the most Tony Award nominations of the season. It's currently playing the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, 242 W. 45th Street, where it opened March 18 following developmental engagements at A.R.T. in Cambridge, MA, and New York Theatre Workshop.

Oncefeatures a book by award-winning Irish playwright & screenwriter, Enda Walsh (Penelope, Hunger, The New Electric Ballroom), the Academy Award-winning music and lyrics of Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, direction by John Tiffany (Black Watch), movement by Steven Hoggett (Black Watch, American Idiot) and music supervision and orchestrations by Martin Lowe (Mamma Mia!).

The set and costume design are by five-time Tony Award winner Bob Crowley (The Coast of Utopia, Mary Poppins), lighting design is by Tony winner Natasha Katz (Aida, The Coast of Utopia) and sound design is by Clive Goodwin. The Broadway cast of Once features Best Actor Tony nominee Steve Kazee as Guy and Best Actress Tony nominee Cristin Milioti as Girl. Also in the company are David Abeles, Will Connolly, Featured Actress Tony nominee Elizabeth A. Davis, David Patrick Kelly, Anne L. Nathan, Lucas Papaelias, Ripley Sobo, Andy Taylor, Mckayla Twiggs, Erikka Walsh, Paul Whitty and J. Michael Zygo.

Tickets for the Broadway production are now on sale via Telecharge.com or by phone at (212) 239-6200. The performance schedule is Tuesday at 7 PM (8 PM curtain on Tuesday, May 15), Wednesday through Saturday at 8, matinees Wednesday and Saturday at 2 and Sunday at 3.
