The piece is created and directed by Mark Lonergan in collaboration with Joel Jeske and Ryan Kasprzak, who perform.
This Way That Way is described as being inspired by the "great comic duos of the 20th century." It features two con men on a cross-country trip, on which they meet various characters and escape from a variety of predicaments. The actors signify different characters with the change of a hat, and perform such feats as magic, tap dancing, spinning plates and juggling.
Jeske is a veteran of the Ringing Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus, and is a member of The NY Goofs and The Golden Age theatrical troupes. Kasprzak has performed at La Mama and with the touring production of Fosse.
Parallel Exit's previous works include Tenement Vaudeville and WHITE/NOISE/JUMP. Its biggest success, Velocity, featured three kinetic office drones who punched adding machines, tossed their briefcases around like juggling pins and dressed alike, right down to their black, horn-rim glasses and neon green ties.
