News Pasadena Playhouse Plans Once Upon a Mattress, Feb. 2 The fellow who played Charlie Brown in the original San Francisco mounting of Snoopy, and the woman who played Wendy in the Sandy Duncan revival of Peter Pan, will both star in a one-night only concert version of Once Upon A Mattress. Produced by Musical Theatre Guild, the Feb. 2 concert takes place at the Pasadena Playhouse in Pasadena, CA.

The fellow who played Charlie Brown in the original San Francisco mounting of Snoopy, and the woman who played Wendy in the Sandy Duncan revival of Peter Pan, will both star in a one-night only concert version of Once Upon A Mattress. Produced by Musical Theatre Guild, the Feb. 2 concert takes place at the Pasadena Playhouse in Pasadena, CA.

Part of the "Broadway in Concert" series, Mattress features James Gleason (Snoopy) as Dauntless, and Marsha Kramer (Pan) as Winnifred. Also in the cast are Reece Holland, Tami Tappan (Miss Saigon), David Engel, Larry Raben, Ira Denmark, Billy Barnes, Betty Vaughan, Michael G. Hawkins, Tony Adelman, Sally Gray, Maura Knowles, Ted Kuentz, Erin McNally, Laurrinda Robinson, Tom Vivieros, Rona Binebaum and Christopher Carothers (son of A.J. Carothers, who penned by the book for Busker Alley). Glenn Casale directs.

Mattress features a book by Jay Thomopson, Marshall Barer and Dean Fuller, lyrics by Barer and music by Mary Rodgers.

The last Broadway revival, directed by Gerald Gutierrez, opened Dec. 19, 1996 and ran several months, targeting family audiences and releasing a cast CD on RCA Victor. When the show ended May 31, it had played 33 previews and 187 regular performances at the Broadhurst Theatre.

According to producer Eric Andrist, after Mattress in Pasadena's Broadway series will be On The Twentieth Century in April, to be directed by Joanna Gleason (Into The Woods).>Falsettos.
