Edges will play the Sondheim Center Feb. 21-24, replacing the previously announced concert staging of Company. In a statement Sondheim Center artistic director Randal K. West said, "Part of our mission is to support the creation of new work. Though we look forward to producing Company in a future season, we simply couldn't pass up the opportunity to produce this exciting new work in its midwest professional premiere."

Edges was recently seen at the Capital Repertory Theatre in Albany, NY. Directed by Gordon Greenberg, that production featured Farah Alvin, Whitney Bashor, Steven Booth and Colin Hanlon. Greenberg and all four actors will be part of the upcoming Iowa run. Composer Paul will also serve as the production's music director and pianist.

Edges, according to press notes, is a "song cycle about the trials and tribulations of moving into adulthood and the search for love, commitment and meaning."

Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are up-and-coming musical theatre writers. Their best-known work, the aforementioned Edges, has been presented in Washington, Philadelphia, New York City and Albany. Another evening of their songs, titled Uncharted: Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, was seen at the Ars Nova. The University of Michigan graduates also write for Disney Channel's "Johnny and the Sprites," and they are the all-time youngest recipients of the Jonathan Larson Award. Visit for more information.
