Grammy Award winner Patti LaBelle recently sat down with NY1's "On Stage" to discuss her return to Broadway in the award-winning musical Fela!

LaBelle, who joined the Fela! cast Sept. 14 as African musician-activist Fela Kuti's political firebrand mother, Funmilayo Anikulapo-Kuti, also reveals in the interview that she will return to Broadway next year in a new project, Patti's Precious Moments.

R&B legend LaBelle has previously appeared on Broadway in three self-titled concerts and in the 1982 revival of Your Arms Too Short to Box with God. She played Matron "Mama" Morton for a limited run in the Los Angeles company of Chicago.

Fela! is scheduled to run at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre through Jan. 2, 2011. To watch the interview with LaBelle, click here.
