Two-time Tony Award winner LuPone is currently playing the role of Samira, a 10-minute comic cameo in John Corigliano's The Ghosts of Versailles, now running at the L.A. Opera through March 1 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
Horne also played the role of Samira at the world-premiere production in 1991 at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
