A new movie musical featuring American Idol's Pia Toscano, TikTok's Chris Olsen, and Prince Khemuni Norodom of the Cambodian Royal Family is coming to Broadway by Demand, with hopes for a Broadway bow to follow. Named 1660 Vine, the musical follows a group of influencers living in one apartment building as they chase their dreams of social media stardom.

The musical, written by Jackson Price and 20 other unnamed songwriters, will be directed by Patricia McGregor, choreographed by Paula Abdul, associate choreographed by Kausha Campbell, and musically supervised by David Lawrence and Faye Greenberg. The film is produced by Jonathan Prince and WitzEnd Productions, and is aiming for a 2024 Broadway debut.

1660 Vine is both wildly joyful and also asks some deep questions about what it means to ‘be real’ in the age of social media," says McGregor. "Selected from more than 5,000 auditions, our dynamite cast brings to life the highs and pitfalls of pursuing your dreams, in a story influenced by such works as Rent and Hamilton. Audiences are going to love what we have put together.”

Principal filming will begin in June in Los Angeles, with a release date in November. The film will first be released on and ahead of a release on a major streaming platform. The work will also be available to license for performance in 2023.
