As previously reported, Cannavale is cast as Trevor Hale, a man who believes he is the god of love who has been banished to earth until he unites 100 couples in endless bliss. Variety reports that Sarah Paulson (The Glass Menagerie, Crimes of the Heart) has been cast as the psychiatrist assigned to Cannavale's character.
The new series is based on Rob Thomas' 1990's comedy series "Cupid," which starred Jeremy Piven in the title role.
Bobby Cannavale made his Broadway debut in 2007 with Mauritius. He has appeared Off-Broadway in Hurlyburly and Fucking A. An Emmy winner for his recurring role on "Will & Grace," Cannavale has also appeared on screen in "M.O.N.Y.," "Six Feet Under," "Ally McBeal," "The Exonerated," "100 Centre Street" and "Sex and the City." He will star Off-Broadway in the Naked Angels production of The Talk this September.
