Classic Arts News PBS to Broadcast Mostly Mozart's Opening Concert PBS's Live from Lincoln Center will present the gala opening night of the 40th Mostly Mozart Festival on August 2 at 8 p.m.
Music director Louis Langr_e will conduct the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra in Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 26, with soloist Garrick Ohlsson, and the Mass in C major, with soprano Hei-Kyung Hong, mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly, tenor Matthew Polenzani, bass John Relyea, and the Concert Chorale of New York.

Live From Lincoln Center, hosted by Beverly Sills, is currently in its 30th broadcast season. Founder John Goberman remains executive producer. Upcoming broadcasts include a 30-anniversary special on May 25, the television premiere of Lincoln Center Theater's The Light in the Piazza on June 15, and the opening-night gala of the New York Philharmonic on September 13.

The first broadcast, on January 30, 1976, featured the New York Philharmonic, conducted by Andr_ Previn, with Van Cliburn as soloist.
