PlayBlog Pee-wee Herman Asks For Your Consideration (Photo) The Pee-wee Herman Show, which finished its Broadway run Jan. 2, was taped for an HBO special that was aired earlier this year. Pee-wee now asks for consideration for an Emmy Award, and is campaigning for his HBO special via his new ad — in the style of Melissa Leo's bid for an Oscar.

The Pee-wee Herman Show starred Paul Reubens as Pee-wee Herman, the beloved character from the 1981 cult hit stage production of the same name, and the CBS series “Pee-Wee’s Playhouse.”

Reubens was joined by Jon Moody as Mailman Mike, John Paragon as Jambi the Genie, Lynn Marie Stewart as Miss Yvonne, Jesse Garcia as Sergio the Handyman and Phil LaMarr as Cowboy Curtis, with Josh Meyers, Drew Powell, Lexy Fridell, Lance Roberts and Caesar Samayoa.

The show was written by Reubens and Bill Steinkellner, with additional material by Paragon. Alex Timbers (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) directed.
