News People Who Need People: Singles' Night on Broadway Is Feb. 28 Singles' Night on Broadway, a new pilot program that invites theatregoers to pre-show and post-show singles parties, takes place Feb. 28.

Anyone who purchases a ticket to a participating Broadway or Off-Broadway show for that night gets to attend a free pre-show cocktail party at Madame Tussauds New York from 5:30-7:30 PM and after-show parties at Trattoria Dopo Teatro and Zanzibar, both of which are offering discounts to participants.

Ashley Parker Angel and Alexa Vega from Hairspray, along with other Broadway performers, will be mingling at the pre-show party. Also at the party, the anchor team from the Fox morning show "Good Day New York" will welcome the crowd and announce the winners of a raffle, which will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The League of American Theatres and Producers is administering the event, which is aimed at singles in New York City and throughout the tri-state area. Partygoers must be age 21 or older.

Participating Broadway shows include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, A Chorus Line, Chicago, Company, The Drowsy Chaperone, Grey Gardens, Hairspray, Journey's End, Les Misérables, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Monty Python's Spamalot, The Phantom of the Opera, The Producers, Spring Awakening, Talk Radio, Tarzan and Wicked.

The Off-Broadway shows are The Fantasticks, Mayumana, Altar Boyz, Stomp and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. Tickets for Singles' Night can be purchased by visiting www.SinglesNightOnBroadway.com or by calling 1-888-Broadway. Tickets can also be purchased via the individual theatre box offices, and ticket buyers who use that method should use the Singles' Night promotional code SNGL07. Theatregoers who already have tickets for Feb. 28 should RSVP to the Singles' Night events via the website or 1-888-Broadway. In all of the above cases, the theatre tickets will serve as admission to the parties.
