PlayBlog "Perks" Musical Webseries Starring Allison Strong, Alex Brightman, Alex Wyse Debuts (Video) "Perks" a new musical webseries where "'Glee' meets Wii," stars up-and-coming Broadway and Off-Broadway performers Allison Strong, from Mamma Mia! and Bye Bye Birdie; Wicked's Alex Brightman; and Lysistrata Jones' Alex Wyse.

"Perks" is the big-hearted story of Josh (Wyse), a tech-savvy gamer, in love with the beautiful Courtney (Strong), but too shy to tell her how he feels. With his nerd-herd/tech posse and Darwin (Brightman), his gay and most fun friend ever, they secretly write Courtney a musical based on her favorite book, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower."

In the pilot episode, all that Josh can focus on is getting the attention of Courtney, who can't seem to take her eyes off of her favorite book. When he finally musters the confidence to approach her, Matt (Paul Cereghino) moves in on his crush.

Though Courtney has yet to say a word on screen, the leading actress told Playbill.com about the recently released webseries. "'Perks' is the perfect marriage of a sweet storyline, original music and an amazing cast of characters from the young musical theatre community here in New York," said Strong. "What could be better?"

The series, created and executive-produced by Tom Diggs, features original songs by Jason Michael Snow (The Book of Mormon) and Mishaela Faucer (Off-Broadway's I Married Wyatt Earp) and is directed by Bill Oliver.
