Perry Laylon Ojeda will perform his one man show, The Trick, June 21 at New York Theatre Workshop for the benefit of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Karen Azenberg directs.
Written by and starring Ojeda, The Trick is the story of Zach, a young sex-hungry chorus boy on the prowl. His life changes, however, when he meets cardiologist Josh, a real-life "Mr. Wonderful." Zach has never fallen in love before but suddenly finds himself beginning to understand that his quest for emotionless sex with cute boys is a cover up for not feeling worthy of love.
Ojeda starred as Gaby in the Broadway revival of On the Town and recently played Marshall in the Encores! production of Babes in Arms. Other credits include Blood Brothers, The Miser at Arena Stage and TNT's "The Day Lincoln Was Shot."
Tickets for the benefit are $25 and available by calling Lori Schmidt at (212) 719-5640. New York Theatre Workshop is located at 79 East 4th Street.
