News Phantom Star Nease Releases "Behind the Mask… No More" Tome Canadian Phantom of the Opera star Byron Nease details his life on stage and off in his new book "Behind the Mask… No More," which has been published by BookSurge Press.

Nease, who made his Broadway debut as Patrick Dennis in Mame with Angela Lansbury, went on to portray Raoul in the Canadian production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera, performing the role over 1,700 times.

Press notes for "Behind the Mask… No More" state, "Long before Byron Nease donned the mask to play the Phantom, he learned to show the world one face while concealing another. A musical theater star expected to bare his soul on stage, but keep his private life cloaked, he learned this lesson while still a small boy. A native Californian and son of a third generation Nazarene preacher, this Broadway star compels the reader with his inspirational story. Moving through a storied career and passionately lived life, donning and shedding one mask after another, Nease arrived at last where he is today, content in his own skin."

Nease's work in The Phantom of the Opera is captured on the Canadian cast recording of the hit musical. Nease also released a solo recording, "Byrone Nease – TODAY!," which includes "What About Today?," "Both Sides Now," "Corner of the Sky," "Son of a Preacher Man" and "My Own Best Friend."

His stage credits also include Annie Get Your Gun, Camelot, A Little Night Music, West Side Story, Carousel, South Pacific and the title role in Maury Yeston and Arthur Kopit's Phantom.
