News Phantom's Davis Gaines Continues Broadway on Ice Tour in 2006 Former Phantom of the Opera title player Davis Gaines will continue to tour Broadway on Ice — with Olympic Gold Medal winner Dorothy Hamill — in 2006.

The stage spectacular created by Willy Bietak features a host of Olympic skaters — including Hamill — performing to the vocals of Gaines. Songs from such musicals as Rent, Chicago and The Phantom of the Opera are featured in the program. Tour dates for Broadway on Ice include Dec. 27 and 28 at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center in Sarasota, FL; Dec. 30 at the Marina Civic Center in Panama City, FL; Dec. 31 at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach, FL; Jan. 24-29, 2006, at Bass Hall in Ft. Worth, TX; Jan. 31 at the University of Texas PAC in Austin, TX; Feb. 17 at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, PA; Feb. 19 at the Kearney Event Center in Kearney, NE; Feb. 21 and 22 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City, SD; and Feb. 24 and 25 at the Centennial Auditorium in Saskatoon, Canada. Davis Gaines received the Bay Area Critics' Award for Best Actor for his work as the Phantom in the West Coast production of The Phantom of the Opera, a role he repeated on Broadway. His other theatrical credits include the world premiere of Whistle Down the Wind as well as Encores! The Boys From Syracuse; Hello, Dolly!; Forbidden Broadway and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Gaines has sung with virtually every major symphony orchestra in North America, and his two solo recordings, "Against the Tide" and "All My Tomorrows: Songs of Sammy Cahn," are available on LAP Records.
