News Philip Jackson Smith and Emily McNamara Will Open Little Shop of Horrors at Gallery Players Brooklyn's Gallery Players will give audiences a special Halloween treat with the camp pop musical Little Shop of Horrors, which is set to take root beginning Oct. 22 in Park Slope.

Little Shop of Horrors, which has music by Alan Menken, with book and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman, will be directed and choreographed by Joe Barros. Performances will run through Nov. 13.

Philip Jackson Smith (Oklahomo at NYMF) and Emily McNamara (My Big Gay Italian Wedding) will star as Seymour and Audrey, respectively, in a cast that also includes Ryan Hilliard (See Rock City, and Other Destinations) as Mushnik and Paul Sadlik as Orin. Tamala Baldwin, Debra Thais Evansand and Vasthy Mompoint (Mary Poppins, Good Vibrations) will portray Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon, respectively. The voice of Audrey II will be performed by Babs Rubenstein (Fat Camp) and Thomas Bradfield will serve as puppeteer.

Little Shop will have fresh puppet designs by Fergus J. Walsh and Michael Bush, musical direction by Lilli Wosk, set design by Harlan Penn, costume design by Ryan Moller, lighting design by Dan Jobbins, sound design by Ann Warren and props by Laura Merrill. Regina Gatti produces the Gallery Players engagement.

Little Shop of Horrors is based on the 1960 cult movie of the same name. The musical version debuted Off-Broadway at WPA Theatre in 1982 starring Lee Wilkoff and Ellen Greene in a role that would become her signature. A Broadway production was mounted in 2003 co-starring Hunter Foster and Kerry Butler.

The Gallery Players is located in Park Slope, Brooklyn, at 199 14th Street. Those in Manhattan can reach the theatre by taking the F train to 4th Avenue or the R train to 9th Street.
