News PHOTO ARCHIVE: Tony Nominee Laura Osnes on the Musical Stage Laura Osnes, currently Tony-nominated for her performance in Cinderella, will release her new CD of Maury Yeston music June 4. In anticipation of the album, Playbill.com traces her path as she went from reality TV contestant to one of Broadway's favorite leading ladies in just 5 short years.

Osnes burst onto the scene as winner of the TV program "Grease: You're the One That I Want!" After starring as Sandy in the 2007 revival, Osnes has gone on to appear on Broadway in South Pacific, Anything Goes, Bonnie & Clyde and Cinderella. She is also a regular on the concert stage.


Playbill.com has learned that two world-premiere Yeston songs will be featured on the album – one, which the composer has penned for Osnes, as well as a song from a new musical he is currently writing.

Osnes was joined in the studio last month by musical director/pianist Fred Lassen, as well as the full band from her 54 Below engagement, including Eric Davis on guitar, Peter Donovan on bass, Harry Hassell on winds and Peter Sachon on cello.

"If I Tell You (Songs of Maury Yeston)" is produced by PS Classics co-founder Tommy Krasker, whose association with Yeston began on the original production of Nine in 1982.
