The event, held each year by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, this year raised over $3 million dollars. The competition was held for the seventh straight year in the New Amsterdam Theatre, home of Disney's The Lion King. The festivities began with an appearance, conga-line and all, from 100-year old Ziegfield girl Doris Eaton Travis and was followed by bonnet presentations from, among other shows, Urinetown, Naked Boys Singing, The Producers, Phantom of the Opera, and 42nd Street. Below, Wicked co-star Idina Menzel brought the audience to their feet with a rousing finale. Sean Combs and Audra McDonald, both of the current Raisin in the Sun revivial, were on hand to present the fund-raising awards, while the duo of Avenue Q and Fiddler on the Roof won the bonnet presentation prize.
