In addition to the anniversary, the company welcomed the addition of new cast member Lea Salonga to the show.

The original production of Les Misérables opened at the Broadway Theatre on March 12, 1987. It transferred to the Imperial Theatre on Oct. 17, 1990, where it played out its run until it closed on May 18, 2003.

Lea Salonga – who plays the role of Fantine in the current revival – also played Eponine in the original production, which she joined in 1993.
