News PHOTO CALL: A Night at the Operetta II at Town Hall Producer Scott Siegel's Summer Broadway Festival kicked off July 14 with A Night at the Operetta II, a tribute to the unique hybrid genre of musical storytelling that inhabits the space between traditional opera and modern musical theatre.

Directed by Dan Foster with musical direction by Fred Barton, the evening boasted a talented roster of performers from the worlds of theatre, cabaret and opera.

Among those recruited to lend their voices to the challenging musical selections were Alexander Gemignani (Les Miserables, Sweeney Todd), Lisa Howard (Spelling Bee, 9 to 5), William Michals (Beauty and the Beast, standby for Paulo Szot in South Pacific), Jennifer Hope Wills (current Christine in Phantom), Christine Andreas (Tony-nominated for Oklahoma), Bill Daugherty, Brian Charles Rooney (The Threepenny Opera), Karen Murphy (All Shook Up), Metropolitan Opera singer John Easterlin, Jason Graae (Falsettos) and recording artist Milla Ilieva. Featured dancers for the evening were Eric Sean Fogel, J. Austin Eyer, Billy Harrigan Tighe, and Ben Franklin.

The set list included songs written between the years of 1881 and 1961 by such composers as Noel Coward, Rudolph Friml, Victor Herbert, Jerome Kern Jacques Offenbach and Sigmund Romberg:
