Baker directed the work (July 29–Aug. 9) on the Main Stage with a cast that also included Becky Ann Baker, Yusef Bulos, John Doherty, Phillip Goodwin, Jessica Hecht, Lizbeth MacKay, Katherine McGrath and James Waterston. The Torch-Bearers is billed as a "1920s farce in which a troupe of amateur actors rehearse and perform a show-stopping new play—or try to with all their might," as show notes read. "Their stage is riddled with comedic drama, suspense, and good old-fashioned witty mayhem."
