News PHOTO CALL: Annette Bening Visits the Book of Mormon Tour's Special Actors Fund Performance On Oct. 13, four-time Academy Award nominee Annette Bening visited with the touring cast of The Book of Mormon in Los Angeles to thank them for their benefit performance supporting The Actors Fund.

The added matinee performance raised over $200,000 for the Actors Fund in both ticket sales and private donations from patrons.

Gavin Creel (Hair, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Mary Poppins) stars in The Book of Mormon as the straitlaced, apple-cheeked Elder Price, who dreams of an assignment in Orlando, opposite Broadway cast member Jared Gertner as his "Star Wars" and "Lord of the Rings"-loving missionary pal, Elder Cunningham.

The Book of Mormon plays the Pantages Theatre at 6233 Hollywood Blvd.

"South Park" creators-writers Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Tony-winning Avenue Q songwriter Robert Lopez collaborated on the script and score to The Book of Mormon, which earned Tony Awards for Best Book, Best Score and Best Musical. The big-hearted, irreverent and profane musical traces the journey of two mismatched missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who take the trip of a lifetime.
