News PHOTO CALL: Avenue Q Turns a Big One Year Old on Broadway Avenue Q, the little musical that could, reached another milestone on July 31 as it hit the one year anniversary of its celebrated Broadway run.

The musical, created by Jeff Whitty, Robert Lopez, and Jeff Marx, won the Tony Award for Best Musical earlier this summer. Cast and crew members were treated to a custom made cake by the producers on Thursday night, as well as T-Shirts featuring the popular Trekkie Monster character, given as a gift to everyone who has worked on the show by Puppet Creator/performer Rick Lyon.

Avenue Q is playing an open run at the John Golden Theatre.
