News PHOTO CALL: Avenue Q's Rod Urges America to Vote Nov. 4 The Tony-winning musical Avenue Q, which for the past five years has reminded audiences nightly that "George Bush is only for now," is urging the public to get out and vote Nov. 4 with a series of posters and billboards scattered throughout the city.

The ads - including a massive billboard overlooking Times Square - feature Rod, everyone's favorite gay Republican puppet, putting on his best political face and declaring that, regardless of whichever candidate one might choose, "Not Voting Sucks!"

Avenue Q's resident musical theatre fanatic may be seen donning a variety of pins, including one referencing what was surely among his favorite demonstrations of the democratic process at work: MTV's "Legally Blonde: The Search for Elle Woods."

Avenue Q features music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, a book by Jeff Whitty and direction by Jason Moore. The musical is produced by Kevin McCollum, Robyn Goodman, Jeffrey Seller, The Vineyard Theatre and The New Group.

Now in its sixth year, Avenue Q plays Broadway's John Golden Theatre at 252 West 45th Street.
