The Music Committee and the Theatre/Drama Committee of the National Arts Club presented Cook with her award at a private reception and dinner at the club's Manhattan home at 15 Gramercy Park South. Previous Medal of Honor winners include Marilyn Horne, Joseph Volpe, James Galway, Roberta Peters, André Previn, Kurt Masur, Itzhak Perlman, Placido Domingo, James Levine, Zubin Mehta, Marian Anderson, Frederica von Stade, Richard Rodgers and Leonard Bernstein, among others.
