News PHOTO CALL: Benson Shows NYC His Heart at Opening of New Musical Film star Robby Benson, known in the theatre world for his appearances in The Pirates of Penzanceand The Rothschilds on Broadway, has written a new musical, Open Heart, which opened on March 17.

The production is playing Off-Broadway's Cherry Lane Theatre and is starring Benson himself.

At the opening last night are director Matt Williams, Sam Hall and Gilbert Stafford, while below Benson (far right) is seen at the Blue Mill Restaurant on Commerce Street celebrating the opening with choreographer Louis Perez, Williams, actor Stan Brown, and wife co-star Karla DeVito.

Open Heart is scheduled to run through April 25.
