News PHOTO CALL: Bikel and Arkin Help Honor Donald Margulies with Cultural Achievement Award Pulitzer Prize wining playwright Donald Margulies (Dinner with Friends, last season’s Brooklyn Boy) was honored by the National Foundation for Jewish Culture on June 6 when he received a Jewish Cultural Achievement Award in a ceremony at the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan.

The foundation is the leading advocate for Jewish cultural creativity and preservation in America. At this year’s sixteenth annual ceremony, Margulies was honored – along wih George Blumenthal, Frederic Brenner and Liz Lerman - for having made art and culture arising from a Jewish sensibility more accessible to audiences throughout the country.

Below, host Theodore Bikel (Fiddler on the Roof) and presenter Adam Arkin (Margulies’ Brooklyn Boy) are seen with the playwright after the ceremony.
