Smokey Joe's Cafe Tony Award nominee Brenda Braxton saluted her once co-star and Tony competitor BJ Crosby at the Aug. 4 opening of Crosby's new project, Harlem Song. Also present at the party at the Riverside Church was Harlem-born performer Harry Belfonte.

Harlem Song, George C. Wolfe's history of New York City's world-famous African-American neighborhood, celebrated their opening night Aug. 4 The new musical revue, features music by Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk's Daryl Waters and Zane Mark done in the jazz, R&B and hip hop styles that made Harlem famous. Tony nominee BJ Crosby (Smokey Joe's Cafe) and solo performer Queen Esther lead the cast.
