Man of La Mancha, the classic musical based on Cervantes novel, "Don Quixote," began previews at the Martin Beck Theatre Nov. 23 for an opening Dec. 5. Brian Stokes Mitchell, following in the steps of Richard Kiley and Raul Julia, stars as Don Quixote with Ernie Sabella as his faithful friend Sancho and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio as the whore Aldonza turned virginal beauty in Quixote's mind.
"This is your sign if you're a younger actor wanting to pursue this, that it's possible and you can do it and not to give up."
The album, featuring Broadway cast Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells, is due out in May.
