Born in a ditch, to die in gutter, the prostitute Aldonza becomes the pure Dulcinea in the eyes of Don Quixote. Joan Diener played the role in the original company of Man of La Mancha and again in the 1972 and 1992 revivals (she replaced Sheena Easton in 1992).

Broadway Bears VI, the annual Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS auction of one-of-a-kind Broadway Bears, will be held at B.B. King's Blues Club & Grill, Feb. 17. Alvin Colt, William Ivey Long, Theoni V. Aldredge, Jane Greenwood and Julie Taymor are among the designers of this year's cub club, with subjects to include Gary Beach (The Producers), Adam Pascal (Rent), Judy Garland in concert at the Palace and Lucille Ball (Wildcat).
