Once is now playing to Jan. 15 at NYTW on East Fourth Street. Read Playbill's story about the Off-Broadway engagement. It features the Academy Award-winning music and lyrics of Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, a book by award-winning Irish playwright Enda Walsh (Penelope, Misterman, The New Electric Ballroom), direction by John Tiffany (the acclaimed Scottish director of Black Watch) and movement by Steven Hoggett (Black Watch, American Idiot). Musical supervision and orchestrations are by Martin Lowe.

The cast of Once features Steve Kazee as Guy and Cristin Milioti as Girl. Also in the company are David Abeles, Claire Candela, Will Connolly, Elizabeth Davis, David Patrick Kelly, Anne L. Nathan, Lucas Papaelias, Andy Taylor, Erikka Walsh, Paul Whitty and J. Michael Zygo.

Here's how the producers characterize the show: "On the streets of Dublin, an Irish musician (Guy) and a Czech immigrant (Girl) are drawn together by their shared love of music. Over the course of one fateful week, an unexpected friendship and collaboration quickly evolves into a powerful but complicated love story, underscored by the emotionally charged music that has made Once an international sensation." The creative team includes set and costume designer Bob Crowley (The Coast of Utopia, Mary Poppins), lighting designer Natasha Katz (Aida, The Coast of Utopia) and sound designer Clive Goodwin.

Once began at NYTW Nov. 15. It played a Boston engagement at American Repertory Theatre in spring 2011.
