Idina Menzel, who will take over for Taylor Dayne as Amneris Sept. 13, got her first taste of doing the role in front of an audience Sept. 11 at the Broadway on Broadway concert event. Also on the bill were Kiss Me, Kate's Burke Moses and Carolee Carmello, who sang "So in Love." Brooke Shields, who starred in Grease! and currently plays Sally Bowles in the Roundabout's revival of Cabaret, hosted the 10th annual Broadway on Broadway concert, staged at 43rd and 44th Streets on Sept. 11. Performances included "Lullaby of Broadway" from 42nd Street, "My White Knight" warbled by The Music Man's Rebecca Luker; "Run Freedom Run" from the Urinetown ensemble, and the comic rouser from Aida, "Strongest Suit."
