News PHOTO CALL: Broadway Shows Their Support for the Gulf Coast Hurricane Disasters Led by Wicked co-star Ben Vereen, the Broadway theatre community came together to sing and dance their way through a benefit concert on Sept. 25 to raise money for the residents of the Gulf Coast of the United States.

That region has been hit by two powerful hurricanes – first Katrina, then Rita — in recent weeks. Held at Wicked’s current home, the Gershwin Theatre, the performers included an A-list line-up that would have made any fan of Broadway drool.
