News PHOTO CALL: Broadway Welcomes New In the Heights Residents Harriell and Negrón The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical In the Heights recently welcomed two new principal cast members to its spirited neighborhood.

Marcy Harriell officially joined the cast Nov. 18, stepping into the role of Vanessa. Her stage credits include Rent and Lennon on Broadway, as well as the Encores! production of Kismet. She replaced original cast member Karen Olivo, who departed to take on the role of Anita in the revival of West Side Story (currently playing an out-of-town engagement at Washington DC's National Theatre).

Rick Negrón assumed the role of Rosario family patriarch Kevin on Dec. 19, replacing Carlos Gomez. His previous Broadway credits include Leader of the Pack, Drood, Legs Diamond, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Man of La Mancha and The Goodbye Girl.

In the Heights, which took home the 2008 Tony Award for Best Musical, plays the Richard Rodgers Theatre at 226 West 46th Street.
