News PHOTO CALL: Broadway's Spider-Man Welcomes U.S. Armed Services on USS Wasp In honor of Fleet Week, Broadway’s own Spider-Man, welcomed real American heroes onboard the USS Wasp in the May 23 “Parade of Ships.” Spider-Man was given a tour of the ship by the Admiral, took photos with sailors, and gave a salute to everyone onboard for their service.

The musical features music and lyrics by Grammy winners Bono and The Edge, direction by Philip William McKinley and a book co-written by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Scenic designer George Tsypin and costume designer Eiko Ishioka are winners of Outer Critics Circle Awards and were recently nominated for Tonys for their work on Spider-Man.

Spider-Man plays the Foxwoods Theatre, 213 West 42nd Street.
