Written and performed by James Junio, Arias for the Mundane is a unique solo piece that follows the humdrum daily routine of its central character - and the subtle changes that occur as his boredom with life increases - through operatic song. At left, Junio is seen in rehearsals for the show, while below, director Melanie Morgan goes over a section of the script with Junio.
Arias for the Mundane also features choreography by Cheryl Swift and musical direction by Jenny Washburn. The show runs as part of the 2005 New York International Fringe Festival at The Flea Theater (upstairs) on Aug. 14 (5:45pm), Aug. 16 (3:30pm), Aug. 18 (7:45pm), Aug. 19 (5:45pm), Aug. 20 (2:15pm) and Aug. 21 (8:00pm).
