News PHOTO CALL: Debbie Reynolds Reunites with Irene Cast at Midtown Eatery On March 13, 1973, a major Broadway revival of the classic musical Irene opened at the Minskoff Theatre, earning four Tony nominations during its run. The cast of that production came together on June 28 to reunite and catch-up after their careers took them in separate directions over the past 30 years.

Actress Debbie Reynolds – who is known the world over for her role in the original “Singin' in the Rain” film – led a cast that including a Tony-winning performance by George S. Irving. The musical, which ran for 594 performances, featured music by Harry Tierney, lyrics by Joseph McCarthy, additional lyrics by Charles Gaynor and Otis Clements, additional music by Charles Gaynor and Otis Clements and a book by Hugh Wheeler and Joseph Stein. Below, Reynolds is seen with the original cast members at a reunion for the Broadway revival of Irene at Patsy's Restaurant on West 56th Street in New York City.
