News PHOTO CALL: Derek Klena, Julia Mattison, Andrea Ross, Nikki Snelson and More Sing Ryan Scott Oliver's Darling Derek Klena, who can currently be seen in Broadway's Wicked, starred in a concert version of Ryan Scott Oliver's Darling, which was presented Nov. 4 as part of 54 Below's RSO FEST.

Very Intense Productions and Your Theatrics (Jeremy Youett and Jacob Harvey) presented the concert version of Oliver's musical at 7 PM and 9:30 PM. Darling is the second in the RSO series, which launched Oct. 7 with 35mm.

The cast of Darling includes Klena (Carrie, Dogfight), Nikki Snelson (Legally Blonde), Leo Ash Evens (Jesus Christ Superstar), Andrea Ross (Whistle Down The Wind) and Kurt Zischke (Whistle Down The Wind), with special performances by Katie Thompson (Off-Broadway's Giant), Julia Mattison (Godspell) and Emily Rogers (Off-Broadway's Unlock'd).

Rounding out the ensemble were Michael Taglieri, Max Chernin, Zi Alikhan, Ben Garrett, Marissa O'Donnell, Trista Dollison and Ashley Park.

Here's how the musical, featuring a book by Brett Ryback, is billed: "A coming-of-age story about a teenager, Ursula Morgan, who leaves behind her upper-class family and finds herself in the seedy underground of Depression-era Boston — a world of sex, jazz and fairy dust." Jeremy Dobrish directed Darling, which featured choreography by Warren Adams and music direction by Chris Fenwick. Darling is produced in association with Grammy Award-winning Kurt Deutsch and Sh-k-boom.

Other members of the creative team included Oliver and Ryan Fielding Garrett (orchestrations), KJ Hardy (lighting), Bobby Pearce (costumes), Kristina Vnook (stage manager), Coleman Annison (assistant stage manager), Bob Kelly (assistant music director), Janna Emig (assistant director) and RedScandalGraphics.com (graphic design).

The orchestra included Kiku Enomoto (violin), Coco Taguchi (violin/viola), Allison Seidner (cello), Joseph Wallace (bass), Andrew Zinsmeister (guitar), Dylan Schwab (trumpet), Nick Grinder (trombone), Jeremy Clayton (reeds) and Jeremy Yaddaw (percussion).

RSO FEST will conclude with Jasper in Deadland Nov. 18 (produced in association with Prospect Theater Company).
