Ala her signature tune, "Ladies Who Lunch," everybody rose for the Elaine Stritch at the May 27 closing performance of her At Liberty. The special Actors Fund Monday benefit, which attracted fellow Broadway performers Alan Bates, Patricia Connolly and Edward Hibbert, closed out the hit run of Stritch's solo career retrospective. At right, Stritch displays a copy of the Hirschfeld cartoon of her performing At Liberty (including her only stage prop, a chair). The original will be framed and given to the actress.
