The Abbey Theatre in Dublin, Ireland, will celebrate its 100-year anniversary in 2004. The internationally-respected theatre has presented over 740 new plays and produced 1,000 — many penned by great Irish writers including W.B. Yeats, James Joyce, Eugene O'Neill, J.M. Synge, Sean O'Casey, Hugh Leonard, Samuel Beckett and Brian Friel among others.

On Dec. 3, many artists associated with the institution over the years gathered to mark the anniversary. Above Gabriel Byrne and Brian Dennehy enjoy the evening.
